I am Jonny Williams, face of New Under the Sun, where I endeavour to counter the traditional saying ‘there’s nothing new under the sun’, by adopting a philosophy of answering briefs and problems with original solutions.
I’m a 23-year-old free-lance graphic designer, currently based in Salisbury. I pride myself as a versatile designer, who is enthusiastic and comfortable exploring various new mediums and graphic styles across digital and print.
In 2020 I graduated from Cardiff Metropolitan University with a First-Class Honours Degree in Graphic Communication. Design has become an omnipresent factor in my life, whereby I relish learning new skills and understanding the underlying concepts that drive effective design.
In particular, I have developed an ever-growing passion for motion graphics, social and typographical work. This is epitomised in my adaptation of Dante Alighieri’s ‘Paradiso’ which gained me membership to the International Society of Typographic Designers.
Collaborating in cross-disciplinary teams has helped me to further understand the design process as an individual and how to interact in a group dynamic. I consider myself easy-going and personable with a good sense of humour. When I am not designing, I enjoy cinema and I’m an avid sports fan, who loves playing five-a-side football and supporting Southampton FC.
